A Soldier’s Request Sparks Large Video Professor Charity

September 28, 2007 at 9:13 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , )

Video Professor’s charitable work never seems to end, and they are continuing company drive for charity by donating valuable computer tutorials to U.S. troops fighting overseas. The work was inspired when a single soldier, named Stanley Miller, asked Video Professor founder and CEO John Scherer asked if he could try out a tutorial while serving in Afghanistan.

Miller wanted to know if Video Professor would donate a lesson to him so he could do computer training during his downtime. The company consented, shipping Miller the software he requested — as well as additional software for other people in his unit.

Now more troops are responding to the  opportunity and Video Professor is honoring their request, making sure that they can supply our American troops with the necessary tools to help them learn difficult computer programs. Active military personnel can now order free CD’s through the Video Professor web site.

Video Professor Launches New Tutorial

September 27, 2007 at 5:09 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , )

Video Professor already offers a wide array of computer program tutorials ranging from Microsoft Word to HTML design, but they announced a new computer tutorial that should open the door for many people to a popular web site that millions of people use, and millions of people struggle with.

LAKEWOOD, Colo., Nov. 14/PRNewswire/–Video Professor, the world leader in Computing Self Tutorials has released a new tutorial to help consumers buy and sell on eBay.

The ins and outs of eBay are truly daunting, and I know that many people have a hard time figuring out the best way to sell their goods, and purchase other people’s goods. There are even a lot of scams out there on the popular site. I heard of one guy who would only sell a picture of what he was asking for, and hide the fact that it was only a picture. So people would bid on computers for a great price, and then receive a picture of that computer in the mail. The information Video Professor can provide in the eBay tutorial could help people avoid these scams.

Video Professor Creates Foundation to Promote Teen Driving Safety

September 21, 2007 at 11:18 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , )

Video Professor’s next step in community and philanthropy based outreach takes the form of a whole new charitable foundation. This new foundation is dedicated to promoting teen driving safety, and is called the Tillie Foundation. The name comes form this doll called Tillie that some guy used to take advantage of the car pool lane during rush hour traffic. After the guy was arrested they auctioned the doll on eBay and Video Professor bought it and turned it into a national symbol of safe driving.

Video Professor Launches New National Foundation to Promote Teen Driving Safey; Online ‘Rookie Driver Test’ Kicks Off Summer of Safe Driving

I think this is a great cause to champion because I know plenty of teens who have had their lives ruined by stupid car accidents. Many young kids are not ready to drive, especially because they often have tons of friends in the car and simply don’t have the experience necessary to drive safe. Teen accidents can ruin the lives of teens not just because they get hurt, but because they can seriously injure others. I’ve heard way to many stories about teens dieing or causing other people’s deaths in ridiculous accidents that could have been prevented.

Video Professor earns Aurora Award for eBay Training Product

September 20, 2007 at 5:56 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , )

I’ve always had trouble navigating certain sites on the internet, even the popular sites like eBay, which so many of my friends use with ease and make great purchases, but it still gives me difficulty. That’s why its good to read about things like this, where Video Professor, the computer education company, is making a great product that can help people like me and are getting recognized for it.

For the third consecutive year, VIDEO PROFESSOR — the leader in comprehensive self-paced computer software tutorials — has been named an Aurora Awards winner, an honor recognizing excellence in film and video production.

The Video Professor tutorial helps people learn the ropes of eBay, and it sounds like it does it very well since it won the Platinum Best of Show Award in the Technology and Computer Training category. This makes the product seem pretty legitimate to me. The company was also awarded other smaller awards in the same category for other online lessons they were selling. It appears that the company is making a good name for themselves in the computer education field.

Video Professor gives free tutorials to U.S. Military

September 18, 2007 at 11:17 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , )

I’ve always felt the most important thing one can do is give aid to our troops overseas. Especially with all the turmoil going on in the States, I feel like many of the soldiers could feel unmotivated and unhappy with the way things are going here and how people look at them. That’s why it’s great that Video Professor has taken yet another step in providing American troops with well deserved aid.

Denver-based Video Professor is giving free computer tutorials to U.S. military troops serving overseas as a show of gratitude for their sacrifices.

You can never show enough support for our brave men and women, and its great that Video Professor is not taking their power for granted and using their gifted products to help people who need it the most, the people who are fighting and dying for our country. I do wish they send some of our boys home soon though, I don’t want to see anymore death on our hands, and it seems like the whole mess down there gets worse by the day.

The Video Professor provides programs to aid kids with special needs

September 14, 2007 at 10:21 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , )

This story sparked my interest, it could lead to great new advances in handicapped learning skills and learning production in the classroom. Once again, Video Professor steps out and distinguishes itself as a company that will benefit not only adults, but all kinds of people trying to gain valuable computer knowledge.

If you have child with special needs, you probably recognize the potential therapeutic benefits of working with her on the computer at home. Unfortunately, you may lack the computer skills you need to guide your child in her computer-aided growth and development. Why not remove that obstacle by investing in Video Professor’s affordable, convenient, and easy-to-follow computer learning tutorials?

Video Professor tutorials can help parents teach disabled children valuable computer program knowledge, either by helping the parents learn it themsevles or letting them pass the tutorials down to their kids. The ease at which the tutorials are set, mainly for use by beginners can help all sides benefit. Promotion of productive classroom learning is important and necessary, and its good to see Video Professor taking steps towards that goal.

Video Professor Champions Wounded Warrior Project

September 12, 2007 at 12:18 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , )

Video Professor, the computer tutorial company that helps people across the nation learn complicated software with their personalized computer program tutorials, is making headlines with their support of a brave new charitable organization known as The Wounded Warrior Project.

VIDEO PROFESSOR, the leader in computer self-tutorials, has joined forces with The Wounded Warrior Project to assist and provide support services for American Men and Women wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world.

This is great news, not only for American soldiers fighting in other countries and not just for charitable and philanthropic donors across the nation, but for a company like Video professor, who’s product already helps people all over the world learn complicated computer programs, but is now taking it a step further by helping our armed forces. The Wounded Warrior project is a noble philanthropic work and I bet The Video Professor will help them in their efforts to aid more soldiers. The Video Professor proves that it takes more than just a solid product line to be a good company.
